Oracle Documentation
Documentation on how to configure the service in your Taleo instance is provided by Oracle. You can request it from your Taleo Rep who can pull it out from Oracle Internal library for all Passport integrations. Oracle's documentation includes a step-by-step activation guide as well as a detailed reference for the integration that will be useful for your Recruiters as they start to use it.
In this page, you will find some documentation related to the HackerRank side of the integration. This page should be used in conjunction with the aforementioned Oracle documentation.
Service Configuration
To complete the service configuration you will need to fetch your company's API Key and a list of all your assessment suites. You will need to plug these data points into your service configuration screen.
Fetching your API Key
As the first step of configuring your HackerRank for Work assessment service, you have to generate an API Key to be plugged into the Taleo Service Configuration. Please follow these simple steps and note that you must have Company Admin privileges for you to be able to perform some of these actions:
- Go to https://www.hackerrank.com/work/login and sign in to your HackerRank for Work account
- Navigate to Account Settings -> API Access
- Scroll down to the section that says "Taleo"
- You should see an empty box.
- Click on the 'Generate API Key' button. A new key is automatically generated and saved to your account.
- Copy the key and paste it into your Taleo service configuration screen (in your Taleo account)
An Assessment Suite is a combination of one or more Tests and/or CodePair interviews. As part of your configuration, you will need to fetch a list of assessment suite IDs and names from your HackerRank for Work account.
You can find your Assessment Suites in the 'Suites' entry point in the top navigation bar. This entry point will only be available if you have configured your Taleo integration in the "API Access" as shown above.
The Assessment IDs and names you need are in the first two columns of the above table.
Creating Assessment Suites
If you are just starting with your integration, you will find an empty page like this:
As noted above an Assessment Suite is just a specification of a sequence of Tests and CodePair interviews. If you have a Test you want to administer you should first set that up in the 'Tests' tab before you can proceed.
You can click on New Assessment Suite to create a new one. You must specify a name and then add at least one phase.
Each phase can be either a Test or a CodePair interview. Select one of the options from the dropdown. If you select Test, you will then be shown a list of all the Tests in your account:
Requisition Configuration
There are a few requisition level settings that are specific to this integration.
Invite Settings
The candidate invite workflow allows you to specify a number of advanced parameters such as use a custom invite template, provide candidate tags, etc. The Taleo UI will not allow recruiters to specify any of these additional parameters. As a workaround, we have retained a hook in Taleo at a requisition level via the setting called 'Invite Settings' -- which can be set to True or False.
