Overview
Once you have set up your event, you can get candidates through these different ways:
- Publish the Event on Social Channels
- Import Candidates with a CSV Upload
- Publish the Event on the HackerRank Community
Publish the Event on Social Channels
Ensure you publish your event on various avenues, such as social channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Google, and so on) and your own career site. This is to ensure a good number of registrations for the event. Additionally, publishing in our community can also help you get candidates to the event.
Once you publish your microsite on various avenues, candidates will start registering for this event. Based on whether your event is Individual or Team-based, the registration process works as follows:
Registration for an Individual Challenge
For an individual event, a candidate is asked to share their information to register for the event.
Candidate experience for an individual challenge
Registration for a Team-based Event
However, for a team based event, a candidate needs to register as a team leader along with adding their team info. Using the team info, HackerRank Engage sends out an email to all the team members to register for the team that the team leader registers. You can see the difference in the candidate experience for a team leader vs a team member below:
Team-leader registration experience with the team-info
Team-member registration experience
Import Candidates with a CSV Upload
Finally, you can also connect your ATS and CRMs through the CSV upload capability to bring in candidates from your own pool.
To import candidates from your own ATS and CRM, click on the overflow or kebab menu at the top right corner and click Import candidates. In the modal that opens up, upload a CSV with the Name and Email ID of candidates to bring in your own candidates. If in doubt about the format, download the sample CSV shown in the modal and start uploading your candidates onto Engage.
As the next step, you need to reach out to these candidates and nudge them to register for the event. You can do that by Applying the filters (if there are any).
- Select the candidates using the checkbox.
- Click Email.
- Edit the Email and send the email to the candidates.
This will help you send a one-time nudge email to all the candidates you have imported to register for the event.
Important: The email content needs to have the microsite link to allow these candidates to visit your microsite and register. See the image for a sample nudge email:
Publish the Event on the HackerRank Community
You can publish the event microsite link on the HackerRank community to get candidates for your event. This will be published under the compete page so that you can build candidates as you need.
Manage Candidates
Candidates in your funnel are displayed in the Candidates tab of Engage.
In addition to importing, viewing the Event winners, and sending one-time emails, the Candidates tab can be used for managing the candidate data:
- Data Management: View and search candidate data or team data and apply filters across various dimensions such as Gender, Country, and Experience level.
The Filter Candidates panel displays the filters to be applied. Select the appropriate filter and click Apply Filters.
- The Candidates tab will have just the ‘Candidates’ sub-tab if it is an individual event, as seen below.
The Candidates tab will have both the Teams and Candidates sub-tabs if it is a team event, as seen below.
