Set Up the Event Challenge

HackerRank Engage recommends challenges based on your company's industry theme. For instance, Fintech companies will receive questions tailored to the Fintech theme. Currently, we support themes across various industries, including e-commerce, Fintech, and Automotive.

Reviewing the Challenge

  • Review Questions: To review questions, click the arrow in the Action column next to each question. The question will be displayed in a pop-up window. It is recommended to review all questions before publishing the challenge.
  • Try Challenge: Use the Try Challenge option to test the questions before proceeding.

If the suggested questions do not meet your requirements, you can contact the Engage team at engage-challenges@hackerrank.com, located at the bottom of the challenge list. Your email will be sent to the Content, Professional Services, and Product teams at HackerRank. Expect a response within one business day.

Challenge Settings

  • Centralized Test Settings: By default, the centralized test settings in your account will apply to the challenge.
  • Recommended Integrity Settings: For Engage challenges, specific integrity settings are recommended, which will override your centralized test settings. These include:
    • Copy-Paste Tracking
    • Tab Proctoring
    • Image Proctoring & AI Image Analysis 
    • Multiple Monitor Detection
    • AI Plagiarism Detection
  • You will receive a consent pop-up to accept or decline these settings. If consent is not provided, the challenge will follow the default centralized test settings.

Note: AI Image Analysis and Integrity settings are not applied for team events and hackathons since they are collaborative programs.  

Publishing the Challenge

After reviewing the challenge:

  • Click Publish.
  • A confirmation prompt will appear. Click Confirm to publish the challenge.
    • For hackathon mode, proceed as usual.
    • For challenge mode, check the box to enable the recommended integrity settings.

Note: Once the microsite is published, you cannot change the event type or participation type. For further changes, contact engage-challenges@hackerrank.com.
