We are constantly updating HackerRank for Work with new improvements and fixes. Here is a summary of customer-facing updates we have made from March 31st, 2021 to July 6th, 2021.
Developer Skills Platform
Screen
Updated Emails for Candidate Test Summary Reports
Existing Candidate Test Summary Report Emails are difficult to read and cluttered with lots of details. The new set of emails are well designed with sections created for Candidate Details, Skills scoring and Questions scoring. Scores are highlighted and link to report on the platform clearly placed on top.
Clear call to action for the following:
- Passed/ Failed status for the candidate in case the cut-off score is mentioned in the test.
- Manually graded questions are clearly indicating the additional action to evaluate the answers.
Projects Test Scale Improvements
Project tests now support a login rate of 30 logins per minute (Up from 5 logins per min). Users are alerted about the scale supported and the expected candidate experience whenever users bulk invite candidates to a Projects test with a start date. This support article details the scale limits, candidate experience, and recommendations.
DevOps Tests scale improvement
DevOps tests now support overall 100 parallel sessions at an account level.
TypeScript Support
TypeScript has grown in popularity over the last 3 years. It is now a key need for developers and interviewers on our platform. TypeScript support will now be available in Screen, Interview, and our Community experiences for all the library questions.
Other Improvements
Added the support for Java 15 in coding questions on Screen, Interview, and our Community experiences.
Added the support for Java 15 in coding questions on Screen, Interview, and our Community experiences for library questions.
Added auto-complete support for SWIFT.
Interview
Interview Templates
Interview Templates is built to help organizations elevate their hiring maturity by organizing their interview process in a consistent and structured way.
Users can create a template of questions and share it across their teams to ensure the same/similar set of questions are asked to every candidate applying for a role consistently. This helps in reducing bias and makes it easy to compare the performance of candidates.
Named Cursors
As an improvement to the collaborative experience, we introduced named cursors which show the participant's name while they are typing.
Moveable Chat Widget
The chat widget was always coming in the way of the interview when the call was going on between the interviewer and the candidates.
We made the chat a moveable widget so that users can place it anywhere during the interview.
Question Name on Tabs
Previously, every tab was named Question 1, Question 2, and so on. When more tabs were open, users found it hard to identify the tabs and switch to them.
We now added the question name (or) the tab-type name to help users identify their tabs faster.
Test Report Link inside interviews
Previously, users did not have a way to access the candidate test report if the test was not imported into the interview the first time.
We have now made the test report link always available inside interviews.
Sample Interview for Candidates
Previously, candidates had no way to try out a sample interview before they came for the real interview.
We have created a sample interview link that can be shared with the candidates while you invite them to the interview.
Core Enterprise Capabilities
Admin
Directing Locked Users to Administrators
Previously, locked users did not know the steps to get their account activated. This resulted in confusion and delays in requesting reactivation for their accounts.
With this update, a locked user will see the details of the company administrator that locked their account and the timestamp for when they were locked. This makes it easier for them to request reactivation.
Better Directions for Administrators
When administrators try to add a user that already exists, they will be shown a direct link to view the user’s profile. This reduces the steps needed by admins to find users and reactivate them.
This works for both locked and activated users.
Changes to the Exports
- We introduced ‘Email Workflow’ in Exports. Now a user can choose to receive a link to download CSV, in their inbox.
- In Exports, now we show the date/time based on the user’s time zone.
