Join an Interview

This article applies to the new Interview experience. If your interview interface looks different, see Join an Interview for the legacy Interview experience.

You can join an interview from the invitation link or the Interview List page.

Note: A maximum of four interviewers can join the same interview session at a time.

Joining an interview

To join an interview as an interviewer:

  1. Open the interview in one of the following ways:

    • Click the interview link.

    • Go to Interviews > Interview List, and then click Start next to the interview.

    The interview setup page opens.

    Note: If you are not logged in, HackerRank prompts you to log in with your HackerRank for Work credentials.

  2. Under Permissions, verify the selected camera and microphone. If multiple devices are available, use the corresponding dropdown to select a different device.

  3. Check the camera preview to confirm that your camera works correctly.

  4. Review any detected system compatibility issues. If HackerRank detects an issue, click See Fix and follow the instructions.

  5. Click Join Now to join the interview.

    Note: HackerRank records the interview. By clicking Join Now, you consent to the recording.

  6. Click Admit in the notification that appears when the candidate enters the lobby. HackerRank also plays a notification sound when the candidate enters the lobby.

Candidate experience

When candidates open an interview link, HackerRank checks their system compatibility and guides them through the camera and microphone setup.

After completing the setup, candidates wait in the lobby until an interviewer admits them.
